Two Female Footy Webinars coming up

The YJFL in conjunction with our Community partners at Collingwood FC are presenting two female football webinars for YJFL clubs in early December.  YJFL Female Football Ambassador Penny Cula-Reid will be taking part in both sessions, with guests from Collingwood FC also involved in both webinars.  The first webinar is aimed at coaches of girls teams, with the second session more relevant for players who are keen to gain an understanding of the pathways available for female players.

Registration process has opened and we would like to see plenty of YJFL coaches and players register to be involved.

Thursday December 3rd at 7pm – Coaching Webinar

This session is aimed at coaches of female teams.  Collingwood AFLW coach Steve Symonds will present on drills in small groups, with Penny Cula-Reid to present on team cohesion and creating a good team culture.  Coaches will have the opportunity to ask questions of both Penny and Steve throughout the session.  Session will run for approx. 45 minutes.

Thursday December 10th at 7pm – Player Webinar

This session is relevant to both coaches of Girls teams and to players in YJFL Girls teams (best suited to players aged 15+).  Penny Cula-Reid will talk to three current Collingwood AFLW players about their football journey, how they got to where they are today and the challenges they had to meet to get to being an AFLW footballer.  Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.  Session will run for approx. 45 minutes.

This webinar series is a great opportunity for YJFL coaches to develop some ideas that they can take into the 2021 season and continue their personal development, and for YJFL players to gain a greater understanding of what is needed if they want to keep improving their football and get those opportunities at a higher level.
