Questions & Answers about being an Umpire in the YJFL

The Yarra Junior Football League Umpire Department provides umpires for all Yarra Junior Football League matches from Under 11 up to Youth Boys (Under 17.5) and Youth Girls (Under 18).

It also provides boundary umpires and some goal umpires in the older age groups where numbers permit.

There are four training venues for all the umpires.
 

Umpires are expected to attend training regularly at one of these venues. Training continues weekly until up to the Grand Finals played on Sunday 25th August (U11-U16) and 1st September 2024 (Youth Boys and Youth Girls).

  • Umpires are required to check in via the QR code supplied at venue (manual check in will also be available).

  • Please bring your own water bottle and whistle

Umpire Uniform 2024 Season

It is mandatory that all YJFL umpires have Shirt (BJS logo), Shorts, Socks. Training Tops and Wrist bands are recommended. Orders are to be placed via Worn 2 Win, details can be found in the Umpires Apparel tab above. 

Re-Registrations for Season 2024 - Officials HQ

Officials HQ rollover from season 2023 to season 2024 is now open.

 

For umpires that are looking to umpiring in season 2024 please re-register ASAP.

You do this by logging into your Officials HQ profile.   You will be prompted to re-register, please follow all the prompts.  

Once completed this we will see you registered for season 2024.
