Despite the wild and wooly conditions, Round 1 of the Championships saw the Hire Depot YJFL Representative Teams acquitted themselves well in all Matches.
The Under 15 Boys hosted SMJFL at Bulleen Park and took the points in both encounters exacting revenge on their Grand Final results of 12 months ago.
The Girls travelled to a cold and wet Panton Hill and just fell short of victory coming away with a draw and a two point loss.
Meanwhile, the Under 14 Boys staked an early claim by knocking off hosts SMJFL in both matches.
