FITZROY V SURREY SHARKS

The stage has been set for a thrilling Youth Boys (1) grand final showdown at the
YJFL’s home of football in Ford Park South, as second placed Fitzroy will meet
fourth placed Surrey Sharks in what promises to be a tightly contested decider.
Fitzroy enters Sunday’s game as strong favorites finishing the home and away
season with a 9-3 win loss record and then winning back-to-back finals earning them
a crucial rest last weekend. A major highlight of the season was their Round 9 victory
over the Sharks in these teams only encounter which should give them some
confidence leading into Sunday’s game.
On the other hand, the Surrey Sharks are the competitions form team with three
finals wins in as many weeks and will no doubt be throwing everything at the Roy’s.
After being beaten in Round 14 by Macleod, they’ve beaten Kew Rovers, Balwyn
and, the biggest scalp of all, Macleod, in last weekend’s Preliminary Final. The
Macleod result last week shows their turnaround in form having been beaten by the
same opponent just a few weeks earlier. Some may not have seen this run of form
coming from the Sharks, however they have shown a strong resilience and are
match hardened, and they can be expected to take it right up to any opponent.
Ford Park will be absolutely buzzing on Sunday at 2:30PM so get down and see if
the Roy’s can repeat their Round 9 efforts or if the Sharks wheel just keeps rolling.
The Youth Boys (1) Grand Final should be a tough and uncompromising contest with
the winner more than worthy of the premiership.
