Ray Kelsey (Head of Umpiring) and Liam Cox (Football Operations Manager) will be departing the league in December 2023.
Ray and Liam both joined the YJFL team in March ahead of the 2023 season.
Ray worked closely with the umpire group growing numbers of participants across the league. Ray’s main objective was to drive consistency across the umpiring group and building the umpiring numbers through recruitment and retention. Ray leaves the YJFL to pursue an Umpire assistant coaching role with the AFL.
In Liam’s role as Football Operations Manager, he built relationships with YJFL clubs working closely with club officials and councils to deliver competition fixtures and grading for the 2023 season. Liam prided himself on supporting clubs to enhance the match day experience for all players and volunteers. He has accepted the position as Head of Sport at Our Lady of Sion College in Box Hill.
CEO Aaron Bailey thanked both Liam and Ray for their strong contributions in season 2023.

Ray has set a strong platform for umpiring in the region and Liam’s work in improving Fixturing and Grading process will benefit our clubs and teams significantly in the coming years.”
