The Coates Talent League is the premier underage football development competition for boys and girls in the eastern states, with the 12-team competition providing a pathway that produces the future stars of the elite game. Players are selected for the squads after impressing for their local clubs and participating in a tryout process in the leadup to the season.

In 2022, 37 of the 59 players picked in the NAB AFL Draft were selected directly from what is now the Coates Talent League Boys, while of the 83 players selected in the latest NAB AFLW Draft, 41 were directly from Coates Talent League Girls programs.

The YJFL would like to congratulate all the players selected to the squads. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the players, their coaches, their clubs and many others involved in their journey.

The league would also like to congratulate and acknowledge all YJFL players who have been selected in the Under 16 Futures Squads.

Good luck to all YJFL players participating in the 2023 Coates Talent League – we wish you all the best for this season and your future football careers.
