YJFL kicks off 2023 with Season Launch event at Swinburne University

The Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) has officially launched its 2023 season with over 200 club personnel and partners coming together on Sunday 26 March at Swinburne University.

The Season Launch was opened with an address by CEO Aaron Bailey who thanked all partners and clubs for attending and wished them well for the season, before he welcomed special guest speaker Simon Goodwin — Head Coach of the Melbourne Football Club — who shared some insights into coaching, football, and success at both the elite and community level.

The Season Launch was accompanied by several unique breakout sessions which included a specialty coaching session with presentations from our premier partner, Rookie Me, and mental health organisation, Tackle Your Feelings. The session provided valuable insights into coaching techniques and the Rookie Me Coach technology, and how to manage emotions on and off the field.

Another important session was hosted by our partner ChildSafe Australia. The child safety session was specifically tailored for club officials and child safety officers and provided valuable information and tools to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children participating in the league.

YJFL CEO Aaron Bailey said it was exciting to officially launch the 2023 season and to be able to offer club personnel some development opportunities ahead of the season.

"It was fantastic to see everyone here today at Swinburne University attending the 2023 YJFL Season Launch."

"The event provided us with a great opportunity to bring together a variety of people from our league ahead of the season, and we were to be able to provide them with a number of important development sessions that will benefit both our clubs and their participants."

"We are extremely grateful to all our clubs, partners and Simon for attending today and we look forward to the 2023 season."

The YJFL would like to express its sincere gratitude to Simon Goodwin for attending the event as the guest speaker and would also like to thank all clubs and club personnel for making the time to attend. The league would also like to thank all its partners for attending the event and for their continued support of the league.

The YJFL would also like to extend its thanks to premier partner, Swinburne University, for hosting the event.

The league wishes all YJFL participants and clubs the best of luck for the 2023 season.
