YJFL Congratulates Matthew Rowell

The YJFL would like to formally congratulate Matthew Rowell on winning the 2025 AFL Brownlow Medal last night. Matthew played over 125 games in the YJFL from Under 9’s for the Canterbury Cobras and the Boroondara Hawks. During his time in the YJFL Matt won five League best and fairest medals, along with representing the League at interleague level in Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15s. It was fantastic to see the Matt’s community club in Canterbury get recognised last night.

The League would also like to congratulate Nick Daicos (Greythorn and Kew Rovers) on finishing 2^nd in the Brownlow, as well as Noah Anderson (Hawthorn Citizens) on winning Goal of the Year and Sam Darcy (Glen Iris) on winning Mark of the Year.
