YJFL acknowledges the heart of community clubs during National Volunteer Week

The Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) will celebrate National Volunteer Week (NVW) from May 15 to 21, 2023 recognising the outstanding contribution of volunteers to community football.

NVW honours and acknowledges the invaluable contributions of volunteers across Australia. This year, the theme for National Volunteer Week is "The Change Makers."

Community football thrives on the commitment and selflessness of volunteers who give countless hours of their time to ensure our competitions run at the highest standard. The YJFL extends its deepest gratitude to the dedicated coaches, team managers, canteen workers, runners, trainers, and other volunteers who tirelessly devote their time and effort to our league.

YJFL CEO Aaron Bailey said: “The YJFL recognises the importance of volunteers as the lifeblood of community football.”

“Their contribution is essential to the success of the YJFL, and we are sincerely grateful for the selflessness, passion and energy they bring to our league.”

During National Volunteer Week, the YJFL will show its appreciation to volunteers across the league’s social channels. YJFL clubs are also encouraged to share photos and stories of their volunteers.

The YJFL encourages those who are passionate about football and their community to get involved as a club volunteer.
