The Yarra Junior Football League’s 2 Under 15 boys teams were crowned Champions on Saturday after securing wins in both the Under 15 (1) and Under 15 (2) Grand Finals of the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Junior Championships.
In the matches held at Vermont Recreation Reserve the Under 15 (2) team proved too strong for South Metro Junior Football League taking out the match by 7 goals.
The day got even better when the Under 15 (1) team took out the top division beating host League EFL by 38 points.
The day, however, didn’t all go to plan. Two late goals by the Northern Football League was enough to secure the trophy over the Yarra Girls in the Under 15 Girls (1) competition.
Next Saturday sees our Under 14 teams both take on SMJFL for their shot at the Championships. The matches will be played at Warrawee Park Oakleigh.
