TAC supports community footy with Club Rewards Program and Road Safety Round

One of the biggest funding programs benefiting grassroots footy in Victoria is back in 2023, with community clubs given the opportunity to share in $600,000 of investment through the Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) Club Rewards Program.

The longstanding program rewards football clubs in metropolitan and country regions with up to $10,000 for their efforts to promote road safety in their clubs and local communities. 150 clubs were recipients of funding through the program last year.

The program has provided more than $2.3 million over the past four years to hundreds of Victorian football and netball clubs, which has helped with a range of initiatives, including facility improvements, the purchase of new equipment, training for members and offering safe transport from club events.

TAC ROAD SAFETY ROUND

As part of the program, the 2023 TAC Road Safety Round will be held from July 21-23 to promote road safety and honour those tragically killed on the state’s roads.

Coaches, players, and supporters from Victorian football and netball clubs will again don a blue armband to show their commitment to eliminating death and serious injury on our roads.

YJFL clubs are encouraged to get involved by registering and actively spreading road safety messages throughout your club this season in as many ways as possible.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

Upload evidence of your club spreading the message via your Smarty Grants application:

  • Pictures

  • Videos

  • Screenshots of social media posts

  • Content or any other digital activity

  • Copies of records, written material and collateral
