Six YJFL alumni attend 2022 National Combine ahead of the AFL Draft

Six former YJFL players have competed at the 2022 NAB AFL Draft Combine ahead of the National Draft to be held across two days on November 28-29.

Held across October 7-9, the NAB National Combine features many of the most talented boys in the country and provides players with a final opportunity to showcase their talents ahead of the upcoming draft.

Club interviews and medical screenings were conducted before physical testing including vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20m sprint, agility test and 2km time trial.

Josh Weddle (Templestowe / St Mary’s) impressed at the combine with top ten finishes in the 20m sprint, 2km time trial and running vertical jump where he finished third.

The Yarra Junior Football League would like to congratulate the six players who were invited to the Combine. It is an amazing accomplishment to be invited to the Draft Combine and puts the player in the top echelon in this year’s under 18 class.

The league wishes all the players the best in the upcoming National Draft.
