Due to such heavy rain and poor conditions, many of the games this weekend were called off due to the grounds being to unsafe to play on. For those games that were able to go ahead, it was back to old school wet weather football and plenty of mud. Thanks to all the volunteers, coaches, umpires, parents & players who braved these tough conditions.
This Saturday YJFL is lucky enough to hosting the Under 15 Metro Junior Championship Grand Finals. Both our Under 15 Boys teams have made it through to the Grand Final! It would great to have as much YJFL support as possible, so make sure you head down to Bulleen Park to cheer on the boys.
Grand Final Details:
10.00am U15 Girls Division 1 – Eastern Region Girls Vs NFNL
12.15pm U15 Boys Division 1B – YJFL Vs SMJFL
2.30pm U15 Boys Division 1A – YJFL Vs SMJFL
Our Under 14 B side has also qualified for their Grand Final which will be played the following Saturday 30th June at Eltham Central Park, Eltham at 12pm.
Across Victoria rounds played on the 17th & 18th June were named Sockit2MND round. YJFL was proud to be a part of this special round dedicated to raising awareness for motor neurone disease which affects thousands of Victorians each year. It was great to see clubs participate by wearing blue and white socks during this round to raise awareness and funds for such an important cause.
Macleod celebrated their 50th Anniversary Gala Ball on Saturday with over 240 people attending. Congratulations to Don Crowe, Jamie Boland and Tom Barca who were the inaugural inductees into the Macleod JFC Hall of Fame. They are all very worthy recipients who have given so much to the club over 50 years.
Dynamic Footy Skills are hosting School Holiday Programs at various locations around Melbourne this July. The programs are for all primary school students (Grade 2 – Grade 6) and is perfect for those that need their footy fix during the break.
