McCarthy and Dunn Join the YJFL



The Yarra Junior Football League is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate McCarthy as Football Manager- Girls Football and Inclusion and Lynden Dunn Football Manager- Boys Football and Wellbeing.

These newly formed roles will see the previous role of Football Operations Manager split into two roles, with the aim to provide increased support for our clubs in the recruitment, retention and development of their boys and girls programs.

Kate played AFLW for Brisbane, St Kilda and Hawthorn, including All Australian honours. She is the current assistant coach of the Western Bulldogs and a commentator for Triple M. Kate a qualified teacher, will manage all aspects of girls football in the region, with a focus on growing our girls competitions and supporting clubs in growing their girls programs.

Lynden had a long and distinguished career with Melbourne and Collingwood. Post football Lynden held positions that included AFL W assistant coach Collingwood and Player Welfare Manager at Cricket Victoria. Lynden will manage the boys competitions of the YJFL and will drive the wellbeing and welfare programs for all participants across the YJFL.

Both Lynden and Kate will also support our talent and development programs, coaching YJFL representative sides in 2024.

We welcome both Kate and Lynden to the YJFL.
