Liam Cox appointed as YJFL Football Operations Manager


The Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) is pleased to announce that Liam Cox will be joining as the league’s new Football Operations Manager.


Liam has extensive experience in sports administration across multiple roles providing support to community sports clubs, coaches, umpires, and support staff. As the Sports Administrator at Eastern Independent Schools Melbourne, Liam was responsible for the management of operations, fixturing, and communications for 21 member schools across three divisions. Additionally, Liam has significant community and elite level football experience and is a current player, captain and committee member at the South Croydon Football Club and has previously spent time in the VFL system.


Liam will be responsible for the management of YJFL competitions including team entry, fixturing and grading, supporting volunteer club office-bearers, applying YJFL rules and policies to club requests relating to teams and players, and working with recreation staff at councils.


YJFL CEO Aaron Bailey said, “We are extremely excited to add such an outstanding individual in Liam to our YJFL team.”


“He brings significant sports administration experience, and he will be an invaluable resource for our clubs and our league going forward.”


Liam will commence in his role on Monday 6 March 2023.


In addition to this, Jacinta Mulholland has announced her resignation from the YJFL after an extended tenure in her role as Club Support Officer.


Jacinta has provided an outstanding contribution to the league offering support with management of child safety, grants, and policy development within our YJFL clubs.


The YJFL extends its sincere gratitude towards Jacinta for all her hard work and wishes her the best in her future endeavours.
