Former Yarra Junior Football League players Matthew Jefferson (Ashburton) and Joshua Weddle (Templestowe / St Mary’s) have been named in the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships U18 Boys All-Australian Team.
Jefferson and Weddle both played over 100 games in the YJFL for their respective clubs and represented the competition in the Metro Junior Development Series.
Jefferson was one of the standout performers throughout the Championships and staked his claim as a potential high draft prospect with an imposing seven goal performance against Western Australia.
Weddle played in defence for Vic Metro and displayed impressive intercepting ability and run from defence as he averaged 15 disposals, four marks, three tackles and four rebound 50s per game across the Championships.
The YJFL congratulates Matthew and Joshua on this outstanding achievement and wishes them the best in the upcoming National Draft.
