The Fitzroy Junior Football Club are celebrating the growing participation of women and girls in football by nominating Round 12 as the club's official Girl's Round with club members, supporters, family and friends encouraged to show their support by attending one of the girl's games in this Sunday 30 July, 2023.
The purpose of a designated Girls’ Round is to increase the visibility of the club's growing number of female teams.
Nearly all of the club's nine girls teams will play at home grounds on the day and supporters, family and friends will have the opportunity to see them play games back-to-back in a showcase of women's football.

The Round 12 games will be followed by a celebration of girls footy at Roys’ Recovery at the Fitzroy Bowls Club from 5pm onwards.
This gathering will provide the opportunity for informal social and community connection. There will be a short presentation by the club's Community Partner, Bendigo Community Bank Clifton Hill – North Fitzroy - a major supporter of girls’ footy at FJFC. There will also be a facilitated discussion with special guest female players from both the AFLW, Fitzroy Football Club Seniors and other key agents involved in girls footy at FJFC.
