Eddie Betts Foundation Game

A selected Yarra Junior Football League squad will be playing an exhibition match on Thursday 30 November at 5.30pm Victoria Park against the Eddie Betts Foundation Football Academy (U13 - U16s).

The Eddie Betts Foundation ensures that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families have equal access to sports and physical activities, whilst also promoting a sense of community and wellbeing. The Foundation promotes equity by providing access to sports facilities, equipment and programs for disadvantaged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities, fostering a sense of belonging, health and wellbeing.

Both the YJFL and Eddie Betts Foundation encourage friends and family to come and support the young athletes during the match. It's a fantastic opportunity for them to see the players in action and witness their growth and development.

The YJFL squad that will take to the ground consists of 24 players from 15 YJFL clubs. The U14 Boys age group make up the majority of the squad with a handful of U13 and U15 Boys listed below. Aaron Johnson will coach the team, with Nick Vass, Paul Holden, Hayden Young, Liam Cox and Lynden Dunn in support roles.

Congratulations to the selected players that will be representing the YJFL, we are looking forward to seeing a great display of junior football. This match is about much more than just the final score. It's a platform for building connections, fostering friendships, and promoting respect among the players. Good luck to all players, coaches, umpires and parents involved for what will be our final match for the 2023 year. What a way to finish what has been a fantastic year of football!
