The Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) and Club Respect are proud to announce a partnership to deliver workshops to all 32 YJFL member clubs.
This initiative aims to create a strong culture of respect within YJFL clubs, creating a positive environment for players, coaches, parents, match officials, and everyone involved in the league.
Club Respect is a national harm-prevention program that equips clubs with strong practical guidance to prevent bad behaviour and discrimination. Their workshops will bring together a clubs’ committee members to help guide them in building a culture of respect, reduce conflict, enhance club reputation, and support the league-wide commitment to respect.
All YFJL Clubs are invited to take part in Club Respect workshops to reflect on their current culture within their organisation, create an action plan to implement upon the conclusion of the workshop. Their framework incorporates a self-rating tool at the end of each focus area, making it easier for clubs to audit their club culture and identify areas for improvement.
Tarik Bayrakli, Manager of Club Respect stated that “Club Respect is proud to partner with the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) to promote respect across all 32 of its clubs.”
“Building a culture around deep respect can deliver only benefits to clubs, and this collaboration aligns with our shared commitment to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for young players and their families.”
“While Club Respect conducts workshops with clubs across all sports, we recognise the significant opportunity of working with an entire league. We’re excited at the prospect of home and away teams coming together on match days, united in their commitment to respect and supported by their league.”
YJFL CEO, Aaron Bailey underlined the importance of this partnership to the YJFL. “This partnership will be a key driver in two of our strategic drivers, creating the best possible match and training environment for our participants and ensuring our clubs reflect the communities they represent”
The league will be in contact with clubs personally to assist with booking their Club Respect Workshop in the upcoming weeks.
