Citz win TAC Prize

Recently a message from our partners at TAC was sent out to our YJFL community asking them to participate in a survey that would be key piece of research that will inform the work in promoting road safety in Victoria moving forward.

We are happy to announce that the Hawthorn Citizens Junior Football Club were one of the highest respondents in the metro region and have won $1000 worth of gear for the club.

Club President David Stanford said he was very surprised to learn of winning this reward. “I’m gobsmacked to be honest, we simply sent out an email to our cohort of players and parents and they came through with the responses.”

“For a club with little to no players in the age group who can actually drive, it shows how much our community is willing to get behind something that can support our club. It also shows that our community gets behind the good work that the TAC does with their research into road safety.”

“We look forward to getting more equipment and gear into the club as we start our 2021 campaign.”

“We are very grateful, and we’d like to thank AFL Victoria and the TAC for their support of the YJFL and football in general, partnerships are important for the league and something like this shows their commitment to community football.”

The YJFL would like to thank the TAC and AFL Victoria for their ongoing support of community football and send our congratulations to Hawthorn Citz and their playing community who will receive a huge boost going into the 2021 season.
