YJFL’s Under 10s Lightning Premierships

On Sunday 9th of August, the YJFL’s Under 10s Lightning Premierships took place across
the League, spanning twelve different ovals and crowning six different Lightning
Premiers. Despite the cold temperatures and gloomy looking weather, nothing could
have deterred these players as they took the field eager to represent their clubs, play
with their teammates and enjoy a great day of community sport.
It was a prodigious way to end the Under 10s season and celebrate the young players
within our great YJFL football community. Through rain, wind, and sunshine, each team
played with heart, courage, and an unbridled determination, leaving everything on the
ground until the final siren blew. Though a few tears were shed, the laughs, friendship,
cheers of victory, and celebrations of a hard-fought season all came together to bring
their year to a climactic close.
We would like to thank all clubs, teams, officials, and players for coming out and giving
it their all. We also extend a huge thank you to the parents for braving the cold and
cheering along their young footballers as they play the game they love.

Finally, a massive thank you to our host clubs in Camberwell, Whitehorse Colts,
Heidelberg, Banyule and Doncaster for looking after our Under 10’s across the day.
Also, a huge thank you to our umpires who officiated each game across the six venues
and braved the harsh conditions to help our young footballers to have a fantastic
weekend.
