YJFL released 2026 season dates

The Yarra Junior Football League is delighted to announce the season dates for the 2026 season. The YJFL season will kick off on April 19th in the coming year, two weeks later than what the 2025 began, with the year to commence post the Easter break, whereas it commenced before this year. The AFL Victoria Sit Down Round was a monumental success in 2025 and will again take place in round three this season, while the following weekend will be a day where we look after our Mum's on Mother's Day! May 17th and 24th will see the youngest stars of the Yarra Junior Football League take centre stage at Ford Park, with the Under 8 and Under 9's Round Robin days, while the Under 10 Lightning Premiership will happen in the final round of the YJFL season on August 9th in Round 14. The YJFL will again showcase the league's brightest stars over the Kings Birthday long weekend with Interleague happening across a number of venues in the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Junior Development Series. It was a really strong showing for the Yarra Junior Football League with the 2025 group of Under 14's and Under 15, Boys & Girls winning a combined total of 19 games from 24 games, an incredible achievement. Finally, Grand Finals will again be split over two weekends, with the first taking place on August 30, while the second and final day of the season will take place on Father's Day, on September 6.
