St Marys and Balwyn do battle this Sunday in the Under 16 Boys Division 1 Grand Final at
Ford Park. The two teams finished the home and away season occupying first and second
place on the ladder, both with 9 wins and 3 losses across the season.
The two teams met in the Qualifying final a fortnight ago, with St Marys prevailing on that
occasion by 12 points. During the home and away rounds, it was Balwyn who won the
Round 3 match, and St Marys who won the Round 9 match.
Sunday’s Grand Final will provide a high quality game of footy, featuring the two best sides
in the age group.
Players to Watch – St Marys
Jye Henry – Versatile young forward who is a difficult matchup for his opponents. Can roll
up the ground or play out of the square and won’t be kept out of the game.

Jobe Laycock Smith – A fierce competitor who sets the tone with his attack on the ball. A
great new addition to the team this year and one to watch. Shows leadership through actions
and voice.

Sam Saccone -Silky smooth mover with incredible skills and decision making. Doesn’t
waste any opportunities and hits the scoreboard regularly.

Players to Watch – Balwyn
Tyce Ingram – Crafty hybrid forward wo is strong overhead and knows where the goals are.

Will Borrello – Dynamic midfielder/forward who has speed and agility and proven goal
kicker.

Max Bakker – A strong and reliable one on one and intercept defender who relishes the
contest and is very strong overhead.

Josh Thomas – A see ball get ball midfielder who always sets up play for his teammates.
