Former YJFL players added to AFL lists as Rookie SSP selections



Three former Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) players, Hudson O’Keeffe, Anthony Caminiti and Brodie McLaughlin, have been offered AFL club rookie contracts as part of the pre-season supplemental selection period.



Hudson played his junior football for Camberwell Sharks Junior Football Club and was part of the 2021 YJFL Team of the Year, showcasing his impressive football skills. Standing at more than two metres tall, Hudson primarily plays as a ruck and has impressed with his mobility around the ground whilst playing for Oakleigh Chargers and Vic Metro.

Anthony played over 130 games for Heidelberg Junior Football Club and represented the Northern Nights in the NAB League competition. A naturally gifted forward with a versatile playing style, Anthony stands at 196cm tall, and his size and skill could see him play senior football in the 2023 season.

Brodie played his junior football across multiple YJFL clubs with stints at Boroondara Hawks JFC and Balwyn/Balwyn Greythorn. The 25-year old forward stands at 193cm tall and impressed with 24 goals in 12 appearances for Frankston in the VFL last year.


Hudson, Anthony and Brodie have been recognised for their impressive performances at recent trial sessions with their respective clubs, and they now have the opportunity to take their careers to the next level in the AFL.

With their talent and determination, these two players are sure to make a positive impact at their new clubs and continue to impress fans and teammates alike, and the YJFL wishes them all the best in their future careers.
